Description
Northern hardwood forest. Specie might include Northern red oak, red maple, American beech, yellow birch, black cherry, red spruce, striped maple, aspen, and eastern hemlock. Areas of "heath barrens" are dominated by mountain laurel, huckleberry, blueberry, great rhododendron, rose and flame azalea, and red and black cherry. Some pitch pine might be present.
The STM for this PES will likely consist entirely of forestry related practices. Fieldwork is needed to determine the current state of these forests and what practices might be suitable so that a solid STM can be developed.
