Ecological site group description
Key Characteristics
- Site is on a water-collecting landform such as a drainageway bottom, swale, floodplain, or playa.
Provisional. A provisional ecological site description has undergone quality control and quality assurance review. It contains a working state and transition model and enough information to identify the ecological site.
Physiography
This site occurs on landforms that receive significant additional moisture in the form of run-on and/or throughflow. Examples include floodplains, drainageway bottoms, swales, and playas. Excluded are fan remnants, toeslopes, alluvial flats, and stream terraces.
Climate
This group spans the entire climatic gradient of MLRA 70B. See individual ecological site descriptions for more detail.
Soil features
Soil properties are quite variable in this group. Most, but not all, related soils are very deep and have water tables in the upper 6' for at least some part of the year.
